Maximus' journey to find Commodus takes him to Zucchabar, North Africa, as well as to the Roman Colosseum, where as a gladiator he fights against tigers and Tigris of Gaul, a formidable foe. Maximus' fate is not one of longevity but his bravery in battle and his fierce determination to uphold what is right is an inspiration for many who watch the movie.

Gladiator was directed by Ridley Scott and won multiple awards including Best Picture at the Oscars. Fans of the movie are still waiting for a prequel or sequel to be filmed.
