Have you ever attended a Friday Dahn Yoga class — vibration class? Or have you ever attended a special training where you do endless energy dancing?

It’s quite an experience.

Dancing is fun, but a lot of people don’t like to do it because they get self-conscious and feel silly. But when you dance with Dahn people, you can really let go of all your preconceptions and just move your body. You’ll be amazed at what kind of amazing, creative movements just naturally flow out of your body with your energy.

And when you keep moving your body naturally with energy in this way, you can burn off so much stagnant energy, recharging with so much fresh energy….Your face will literally glow brightly with this fresh energy!

If you’ve never had a chance or still feel self-conscious, you should try it at home in your own privacy sometime. The key is just to focus inside, on your body (closing your eyes helps) and to keep moving your whole body as much as you can no matter what, until you feel energy take over your body and move your body for you.

I’ve always known that I clench my teeth while I sleep if I’m stressed. Knowing this, I always tried to consciously keep my jaws slightly open even when I have my mouth closed.

One day after a Dahn Yoga class, I was doing some extra Dahn Mu Do training with another member, and she said to me, “Try to keep your jaws open to relax some of the tension.”

I responded, “I know I tend to clench my jaws, so I’m usually good about keeping them loose more consciously.”

A few months later, I discovered…I don’t clench my jaws, but in place of clenching, I push my jaw out forward!

This had been creating large amounts of jaw tension, giving me neck tension and endless headaches…But now that I’ve been aware, whenever I feel my jaws tense up, I just focus on my Dahn jon or do some Dahnjon exercises to bring the energy down, rather than focusing just on trying to “relax” my jaws by themselves.

From doing various exercises like sleeping tiger, sincerity training, dahn jon and chest tapping…And yesterday I talked to my master at my Dahn Yoga center, who gave me some energy to help to open up my chest. Towards the end of the evening, I started feeling a little sick, with a headache and so much heaviness in my body. But then….

I slept so well like I haven’t in a while, and I woke up so refreshed this morning. My entire body feels light, and everything in the world looks so shiny and new…

People seem to think that only all-natural, organic foods are “spiritual” foods. Although you want to watch what kind of things you put into your body and take in the best kind of Earth energy, I think the focus should be more on feeling your body being nourished through food. What I’ve learned from my Dahn practice is that what’s important is not necessarily restricting your diet and sticking to such a strict regimen, but connecting to your body deeply so that you can feel what your body likes and dislikes. And when you have this mindset, you can always make the most informed decision, and whenever you feel like splurging a little, you know exactly what to do to make up for your momentary naughtiness

Another common benefit of Dahn Yoga is improved digestion.

Because a vast majority of us have cold dahn jons (energy point in lower abdomen) and very stiff intestines, our digestive functions have been largely decreased. By getting the energy circulating through your dahn jon in particular and then the rest of your body, your digestive system begins to regain its function, enhanced digestion, eliminating bloatedness and improving waste expulsion.

This benefit in particular was a godsend for me from the beginning, and I’ve talked to quite a number of other members who have been benefitting largely and long-term from this. Go Dahn Yoga!

Something I want to share about energy healing sessions at the Dahn Yoga centers:

I’ve always been very aware of my shoulder and back tension, so I’d been going to a massage therapist for years. When I started taking Dahn Yoga classes, the master suggested that instead of my regular massages, I try a healing session. Although it was a little more expensive than the massages, I decided to give it a try….and it was

SPECTACULAR.

Even though what he did was similar to a massage, it felt very different. I’ve never been so relaxed before, and when the master woke me up (I didn’t even know I fell asleep until he did), I felt like I had slept for a week after months of sleep deprivation. Even though I relaxed slept that deeply, I didn’t feel groggy at all — completely recharged and energized to get going again.

Afterwards, I did some “field research,” talking to other members about their experience with healing sessions, and it turns out that there are a LOT of members who benefited very largely from these healing sessions — recovering from some serious illnesses and physical conditions.

If anyone is willing to spend the money on massages or physical therapy, I would highly recommend giving Dahn Yoga private healing sessions a shot.

Another thing I’ve learned about my body over the years of my Dahn Yoga practice:

I have a lot of energy, which creates a lot of heat in my body. My body would constantly use its internal cooling system — my sweat glands — to try to release this heat, but because my body was so blocked, I would only keep sweating cold sweat endlessly….

When I first started Dahn Yoga, I sweat a LOT. And it was very sticky and slimy — quite unpleasant. My headmaster kept telling me that it’s ok, and that once I’ve released a certain layer, the sweat will become lighter and cooler, and much more refreshing. I thought the day would never come….but come it did, and when I felt my body actually cooling off from the sweat, I was astonished and unbelievably relieved. Talk about an “Ah…” moment.

I still go through cycles of sweating a lot and sweating much less, as I go through the many layers of blockages I’ve built up. But now I know what it’s all about, I can read my own body conditions and adjust my training accordingly.

One of my favorite things about Dahn Yoga classes is that they always remind you to breathe.

Not Being Selective

The shadows of objects never leave
The objects as long as the sun is shining.
The sun is never selective and it sheds its light on all objects
And places without any discrimination.
Likewise, when teaching people,
How can you only choose the wise and abandon the others?
You should teach the foolish and the unwise
And change them to the wise and kindhearted.
Only then can one consider it to be true teaching.

Even though people say enlightenment should be open to all, many people don’t like to share teachings with people “who don’t seem to understand.” At the Dahn Yoga center, however, I’ve found that the only factor that determines who receives these teachings is whether this person has a sincere desire to receive the teachings. As long as the person is willing to learn, the Dahn Yoga instructors never give up on the members. And even for those who are unwilling at the time, they simply wait patiently until the time is right.
